Script in Even More Detail!

As of 2022.7.1, Enklu Cloud’s Scripting workflow and overall user interface have received improvements and new feature additions that give you more information and control in your experience-building process!

Script Dropdown Menu

A new dropdown context menu has been added to Scripts in the Scripts tab.

This menu allows you to quickly access important script-editing functions. From here, you can rename a script, change its description, duplicate it, or delete it!

Public Script Changes

When managing Scripts in the Scripts tab, Public Scripts must now be added to your experience before you can edit and save it.

In this release, Public Scripts are treated as “templates” or example scripts. When opened in the Public tab, they are Read-Only and cannot be edited, as Public Scripts themselves cannot normally be saved here.

You must add a Public Script to your experience before you can modify it. Simply add it via the new dropdown menu, and a copy will be sent to your experience-specific Scripts collection. Edit away!

Like before, you can still drag and drop Public Scripts onto an element, and a copy will be added to the experience automatically.

Consolidated Scripts and Variables Tabs

The “Scripts” and “Variables” tabs in the Inspector sidebar have been consolidated onto one page.

Now, each Script and its set of Variables are grouped together, and the Script can be easily edited right there and then by clicking on the pencil button, saving you some navigation and clicks!

<aside> ❗ Note that Scripts you drag and drop onto the “Drop a script here” field no longer appear underneath the field after dropping, since the Scripts tab has been removed. The way to access and edit an element’s Scripts is by clicking on the pencil button, which opens the Script in the Script Editor.

Editor Tooltips

Certain buttons in the editor can now be hovered over with the mouse to give more insight as to their function!

In addition, a new magnifying glass icon has been added to Scripts. Mouse over it to view a Script’s description without having to open it!

Access HoloLogin From My Experiences

The HoloLogin QR Code is now accessible from the My Experiences browser. Quickly jump into an experience in the HoloLens without having to open the editor!

Improvements

Web Editor

• Added a dropdown menu to Scripts. Menu options differ depending on the type of script:
  • Experience Scripts: Allows the user to rename the Script, edit its description, duplicate it, or delete it.
  • Public Scripts: Allows the Script to be added as a copy to the experience.
• Changed Public Scripts to act as Read-Only “templates” or examples that must first be added to the experience before they can be edited and saved.
• Consolidated and grouped together Scripts and Variables tabs in the Inspector, and added an Edit button for each Script.
• Added tooltips on mouse hover to preview functionality for buttons and Script descriptions.
• Added ability to access the HoloLogin QR Code from the My Experiences browser.
• Added a notification that appears when an experience's URL or Embed Code is copied.

Fixes

General

• Fixed an issue where parenting an element under one with scale values of 0 resulted in that element’s scale values becoming blank or invalid.
  • Now, an element’s scale is simply made 0 when parenting under another with a scale of 0.

Interface

• Renamed Autosave option to “Turn Autosave On/Off” to better clarify the current setting.
• Changed Rename option in the experience dropdown to “Edit Details” to better reflect its function.
• Changed default description for new experiences to “No Description”.
• Added a header for experience details when the root experience element is opened in the Inspector.
• Removed [Empty] indicator in the Hierarchy when an element does not contain an Asset.
